Typhoon Dolphin Situation Log: August 10, 2026 * 07:00 AM - Checked on the overall status of Typhoon Dolphin. The storm itself has officially made landfall in Zhejiang, China. Preemptive evacuations of over a million people kept the casualty count at zero there, but the storm's massive tail is wreaking havoc further south. 

 * 07:08 AM - Shifted focus to the Philippines. The storm has supercharged the Southwest Monsoon (habagat), turning it deadly. NDRRMC reports 6 dead across Luzon (Benguet, Rizal, La Union) from landslides, rockslides, and drowning. Over 382,000 people are affected. 

 * 07:15 AM – Checked conditions in Makati City. The roads are mostly passable, but there is gutter-deep flooding in spots like the EDSA-Pasong Tamo Tunnel. A structural wall even collapsed near EDSA-Ayala, but thankfully no one was hurt. 

 * 07:18 AM - Looked into Better Living Subdivision in Parañaque City. It is about 9 miles south of Makati. While other parts of Parañaque are dealing with catastrophic chest-deep floods and mass evacuations, Better Living is sitting on higher ground and remaining generally dry, though the surrounding transit lines are a mess. 

 * 07:22 AM - Confirmed the weather mechanics. Typhoon Dolphin isn't physically in Parañaque—it's hundreds of miles away in China. But its atmospheric pull is dragging a wall of heavy monsoon rain straight over Metro Manila. Radar shows heavy red and yellow rain bands locked over the city, and Meralco is fighting to restore power to nearly 98,000 affected customers across the region.
